Where, When and How of the Bankruptcy Court
There are two bankruptcy courts in the State of Oregon.

If you live in the following counties your case should be filed in the Eugene Court: Benton, Coos, Curry, Douglas, Jackson, Josephine, Klamath, Lake, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Marion or Polk counties.
If your residence is anywhere else in Oregon, your case should be filed in the Portland Court.
Both courts are open Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 4:30 pm except federal holidays.

Information regarding a Chapter 7 proceeding
Every debtor who files a petition for relief pursuant to chapter 7 must attend a hearing called the Meeting of Creditors. This hearing is usually held about 30 days after you file the initial petition.

For the Portland division, all chapter 13 cases are assigned to Brian D. Lynch, Trustee
| Mr. Lynch's office can be reached at: (503) 972-6323 The office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm but is closed from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm for the lunch hour. His office is located at: 1300 SW Fifth Avenue, Suite 1700, Portland, Oregon 97201. The Meeting of Creditors for a chapter 13 case is held at Mr. Lynch's office. |
