1 Million Bankruptcies in Past 12 Months

Nearly 1 million individuals and businesses filed bankruptcy in the 12 months ending June 30, 2008.
With the number of bankruptcy filings increasing nationwide, the largest percentage increase was in the 9th Circuit, which includes Oregon. However, the majority of those 9th Circuit bankruptcy filings were in Nevada, California and Arizona.
Our office has seen an increase in the number of people coming through our door as more people are seeking relief from their creditors by filing bankruptcy. With the housing market continuing to slide, and financing options disappearing, bankrupty is a great way to get your head back above water and looking toward the future.
